This was originally written as a lull-a-bye, slow and peaceful. I started to hear it more as an old school Beatles tune so started to record different versions of it. One early incarnation is going to be in my friend Patrick Epino’s film “Mr. Sadman”. The album version features Sadie Contini of The Invisible Cities. Look for a fantastic new album from them too in the near future!

Lyrics

Somewhere in the nighttime
there's a dream that would not wake
and the echoes of old wisemen said
"you've made a big mistake"

Oh by the way side
Far away from your turnpikes
Far away from your street fights

Elsewhere in the morning
there's a bell that would not sound
and the lonely got more lonely
and the vicious circle got round

Oh by the way side
Far away from your turnpikes
Far away from your street fights
from your peace pipes

Elsewhere in the mean time
there exists a kinder day
Where innocence
and nonsense
always go their separate ways

Oh by the way side
Far away from you
Far away...

Somewhere 'long the timeline
there's a line that can't be traced
and lines of endless people
all competing for one face

Oh by the way side
Far away from you...
Far away...

Way Side
Turn Pikes
Peace Pipes
Street Fights

  1. I was really excited for this to come out. I still find daylight savings to be one of my favorite songs, period, and Somewhere is really far up there near it.

  4. Hoooly shit I am downloading your album. I found your music on indierockcafe.com, and boy do I love it. Lately I am checking out some recommendations in the music field, looking for vibes more than anything. I wish to take it up myself and express the vibe I’ve been unable to find. And like most artists I really enjoy, you’ve hit that close.

In short, I feel just where your coming from brother! Keep it up, really appreciate the tasty (and free! How incredible!) jams. (Tampa, FL)
