A Salty song. It’s not really aimed at anyone, just a composite of the “anima”. This was recorded in my garage in Pacifica- the street I live on is extremely noisy with planes flying overhead (we live near the SF airport) and people speeding down the street. Somehow I managed to capture the song in the silences I was granted by said planes and cars. I don’t know why the girl in the song is pigeon toed, it just came out that way. (note: this is a 3rd draft- the first was aborted by PG&E pulling the plug on the power in the middle of the afternoon…)
Lyrics
Pigeon ToesYou will always choose the ones that hurt you…
Choose the ones you can’t quite have
Like a pair of shoes that don’t quite fit
but they match your eyes and tourniquette
that you wrapped around your broken heart
Every single time that he deserts you,
you will always take him back…
You’re like some
Mother Fuckin Theresa
You’re some twisted sister act
Oh Miss Pigeon toed
You’re clumsy but I love you so
I fell
I hope you can heal me
cuz you were the one who delivered the blow
Oh Miss Mistletoe
with the broken soles
I hope you know me well
cuz I used to compel ya
but now all I do is repel ya
I should really get a new prescription
cuz you’re the one I couldn’t read
Like a pair of shades that hid your eyes
and I guess I matched your winter line (”whims and lies” on the recording)
I was just your accessory
And I guess I will be the one who wants you
cuz you’re the one I cannot have
I’m a pair of glass slippers that cut your feet
and I made your wardrobe quite complete
for a week or two
that’s alright…

beautiful. the melodies are spot on (esp the chorus). “mother fuckin theresa” was sung in just the perfect way. could’ve been vulgar, but turned out good. you know what you’re doing. good job, great song.
